Today we celebrated the girls’ birthday!! I know their birthday was last week but I just wasn’t up to a party with lots of kids and people until now.

So here are the pictures!

More Rain!?!?

Vacation day 8!!

The girls got to sleep in their new beds for the first time last night. Mommy didn’t sleep too well because all I could imagine was someone falling out of bed.. but I’m happy to report NO ONE was injured! The girls even slept in about 30 minutes than usual!!!

They came running into our bedroom and announced.. “We used our ladders!! We love our new beds!!”

On a not so happy note…

IT’S RAINNING AGAIN!!!

Com’on it’s the weekend!!

I wanted to go to the Farmer’s Market this morning but it’s just too cold and wet. Guess we aren’t going fishing either.. last thing I need is to have two sick 4 year olds next week.. especially since daddy has to return to work in 2 days.

New Beds Done!

Vacation day 7!!

Today’s plan.. get two new mattresses for the girls’ junior lofts! The girls are sooo excited about sleeping in their new beds.. last night the girls slept on their toddler mattresses on the floor under their new beds. They played for a long time under their new beds. Hopefully they will continue to play under there. I need to make some curtains for them.

Well while I have a minute before going shopping for new mattresses here’s the rest of the story regarding the girls’ beds..

After the girls opened some gifts from gram and pap Mike and I returned home to work on the beds some more. By this point we had decided that it would be MUCH easier on the girls and us to just “fix” the errors on the beds rather than have Mike take another day off to deal with them.

So Mike took measurements and fixed both the beds. He then called the sale person again Friday afternoon and told her what was done and she gave us 25% off the original order and said should we order anything else in the future that we would get additional money off on our next order. So we got in total 35% off the order of two beds and 2 ladders.

UPDATE

We got the mattresses from Sleepy’s a new mattress store at the mall. The girls love them. After we got them we stopped at Target and got some sheets. Autumn got a sheet set that was as close to purple as we could find and well.. Haley WANTED red but they didn’t have any twin size red sheet sets so she got a pink set. We have to keep looking for her.

I think this summer while mom is visiting we will paint the beds.. I know the girls will want red and purple beds but I’m probably going to paint them white and let them have the different colored sheets. Still have to get a small dresser and bean bag for under their beds.

I will have to get pictures of the girls in their new beds… I think we really need to add on to the house so they have more room.. but hopefully we won’t have to that until they are teenagers.. HAHAHAHA

500th Post Give-away!

Oh yes.. I forgot.. I have reached my 500th post so it’s time for a give-away!!!

MEMORIES

Four years ago today my mother and father came drove up from DC to take me to my non-stress test because I told Mike to go fishing with Hammie. It was the Walleye Opener so if I couldn’t be there he HAD to be there. Plus Hammie had never hooked a Walleye before so he NEEDED to go fishing!

Mom and dad picked me up for my 8am appointment and walked me to the Labor and Delivery department, that is where the test needs to be done. The nurses hooked me up on the monitors and determined that I would be there a little longer than before because the girls were moving lots, so I told my parents to go get something to eat.. I wasn’t going anywhere.

After they left the nurses updated me that I was having contractions.. YIKES.. I just sent my parents away to go eat and get me something eat.. hahahaha.. okay they said they are going to try to stop them.. I wasn’t worried.. yea right!

An hour later after natural things weren’t working they gave me some meds to help stop the contractions. I called Mike, he was on the river with Hammie and he had hooked and boated his first Walleye!!!! Yeppie!!! I told him that he should start getting ready to go home and come to the hospital just in case.

Another hour later, my parents are back and with me, the doctor tells me that he thinks we are going to have a birthday so I call Mike and tell him he MUST come to the hospital.

When Mike gets to the hospital they are just finishing up the admin part of everything and getting ready to prep me..

I think about earlier in the week when I was praying they wouldn’t come on Cinco de Mayo.. well the reason was because if they had come earlier than May 6th, they would have had to have been taking to Geisinger or we would have had to be transferred to Geisinger before they were born because they would have been 5 weeks and 1 day early.

Anyway, since they made it to 35 weeks they wouldn’t need to go to Geisinger. Well, after prep and in the O.R. the only thing to wait for was the first baby cry.. and then the second.. Oh what a wonderful sound.

You know the ONLY time I thought the girls looked alike was immediately after they were delivered. They showed me Haley and then 2 minutes later Autumn and my only thought was why did they show me the same baby twice..

Okay.. I’m rambling.. on to the give-away…
