Black Friday Shopping!

Mike and I don’t usually go Black Friday Shopping but this year we did!! It was actually fun.. at least I think it was. :)

We started the morning off at 415am alarm.. YAWN.. seeing as how I couldn’t fall asleep until after 1am it was a short.. VERY short sleep for me.. YAWN.. I must have woke up like a million times too. It was really hot in the bedroom from the wood stove downstairs.

Anyway, I got up and was dressed by 430.. Gram showed up at 445 and we were out the door a few minutes later. A quick stop at Dunkin for coffee and coco then on the road. 25 minute drive to Mall.

5:20am Sam’s Club

5:30am Toys’r'us

5:55am Tractor Supply – Where we purchased thee ONLY log splitter they had for the Black Friday sale… and we weren’t even the first in line.

8:00am Done.

We were home by 8:45am and that was with a quick stop at Joann’s to see if they had a lamp from the flyer AND a quick stop to get some cashews from CVS.

Are you jealous.. We finished about 90% or more of our xmas shopping in less that 3 hours.. well a little more than 3 hours if you count our quick stops before arriving at home. :)

Tackle It Tuesday – Advent Calendar

Tackle It Tuesday

beforeToday’s Tackle It Tuesday is making an advent calendar for the girls. Well, I’ll be starting it today and hopefully have it completed by Monday!

How far do you think I can get today? Remember the twins are 3 1/2 years old and get into everything. Let’s take for instance this blog entry. I started it around 8am this morning.. and it’s currently 10:45am! HAHAHA

So that’s what?.. Almost 3 hours to write 2 very small paragraphs. HAHAhahaha.

calendar

Anyway, I saw the calendar on the SewMamaSew blog. It’s from the November 8th Deck the Halls blog entry. I probably should have started it then. HAHAHAHA :)

The fabric used is from Michael Miller, Funky Christmas collections and it’s just too cute not to try to make it and even better that I had all the fabric on hand for another project. I was going to make the girls a jumper with the fabric but it’s much cuter as a calendar.. well probably more simple too. :)

Well wish me luck and tell me how far along you think I’ll be at the end of the day.

New years eve = family and friends

Girls open a gift from Aunt Jackie

Girls open a gift from Aunt Jackie

Wishing everyone a safe New Year’s Eve!

For us today was about family. We spent most of day with family. Aunt Jackie even came to visit from MD and we had dinner with her and Gram and Pap. She gave the girls a copy of Merry Christmas Curious George. What a cute book!

Autumn and cousin Stephanie

After dinner, Stephanie and Aunt Phyllis stopped by to see Jackie. Autumn just loves her cousin Stephanie. We have to watch her around Stephanie right now because she is pregnant with twins. A little boy and girl. I think she knows she has to becareful and that Stephanie can’t pick her up but that doesn’t stop her from asking. Wonder how the girls are going to behave with new babies at family functions… I mean they aren’t going to be the center of attention much longer…

Afterwards we drove Jackie back to her friends house and got to take a ride down Candy Cane Lane. It was the first chance we got to see the Christmas lights (and our last chance). The girls enjoyed all the lights and all the different Santa’s and Frosty’s they saw.

On our way home we stopped at Bill and Sue’s house for a New Year’s Eve party. Not so much a party as it was a get together and since the girls were pretty tired we only stayed about an hour. But they had a blast. Carter, Bill and Sue’s son, also called “little boy” by the girls, was such a good kid when the girls wanted to play with his stuff. He even showed them how to go up and down a short flight of steps by themselves, of course they did it on their butts… hahahaha… We knew Autumn could do it but Haley has NO respect for gravity… and it was the first time the girls went peepee in a toilet without their potty seats at someone else’s house other than gram’s. YEEHAW!

The girls are growing up so fast… and soon they will be 3… and 2009 will be here soon too! Can I stay awake?

Through the eyes of Autumn…

I’m pretty sure these pictures were taken by Autumn. Autumn likes to take picture of things and people. I wonder what the pictures will look like as the days go by.
