This morning we, gram and I, took the girls to their 4yr wellness check. I’m happy to say the girls are well.. hahahaha.. it was uneventful.. no shots, no crying.. just giggles and laughs.. oh wait.. we are suppose to keep an eye on Autumn’s sight.. Left eye is weaker, so doc suggested to get her eyes tested by eye doc.

Anyway.. gram is at the park with the girls.. so I’m going to clean.. clean and clean while they are gone.. mostly the kitchen table.. but I’m going to try to get something else done while the girls are with gram!! Probably just the dishes and living room.

Finish It Friday… Fabric organizing turns into scarf making!

WELL I’m really continuing because this is an ever lasting battle for me.. hahaha..

So today I can across some fleece that I got for a project TWO years ago.. needless to say it never got done.. I decided it was time to do something with it or give it away… So I made scarfs for the girls.. I’ll get a picture of them and the scarfs later.. it’s too cold outside for them and their chest colds..

So here is what I did.. I got my fabric cut it to 5″ wide by the width of the fabric.. I had red and fun winter striped fabric.. The red fabric in the picture is actually 4″ wide because I didn’t have enough for the second scarf to be 5″ for both pieces. I think it’s actually much cuter than the first scarf.

Next I sewed down the middle and sewed down each side of the center stitching. Half inch is a good distance. I think next time I make this kind of scarf I’m going to use some  decorative stitching.

Oh yea.. I cut off the ends of the scarfs so that you don’t see the salvage ends.. I didn’t tie the thread.. trying to make this simple so to get it done..

After clipping off the ends cut the sides to about 1/2″ to the stitching in 1/2″ to 3/4″ strips.. and you end up with a fluffy festive scarf!

Next on project list.. chef hat for daddy.. chili peppers AND mohawk fleece hat for when he plows the snow!

Sock Monkeys! I LOVE Sock Monkeys.. I made my sister a penguin sock monkey a couple years ago for Christmas and she loved it. It’s pictured to the right.. not the best picture but you get the idea. He now wears a red cap and has a red scarf.

Anyway… I’ve decided to make a matching one for her this year. I also have sock monkeys to finish for the girls, but I might change my mind and make some sock dinosaurs!! Haley said she wanted a cuddley t-rex..

Hmm.. what do you all think? Traditional Sock Monkeys or sock dinos??

So anyway.. my Finish It Friday is to make another sock penguin or two.. maybe list one or two on Etsy.

Finish It Friday – Collars, New Moon, and Santa’s Helper

Finish It Friday

My first FIF today is to finish the collars started earlier this week!! That is a must! Maybe make a few more too.

But the biggest FIF today is to go see New Moon, but I guess that really isn’t an FIF.. but it’s going to be lots of FUN!! I can’t wait!!!

After the movie we are going to play “Santa’s Helpers” and get the big red dinosaur, Spike, for Haley. She will flip when she sees it!

I also have to finalize dental appointments for the girls. Called yesterday to the dentist we were referred to and found out it’s going to be about two grand for both the girls. ARGH.. and they don’t take our insurance so it’s all paid at time of service. Some of it will be reimbursed by insurance but not all.  Oh well it needs to be done and it’s all our jobs now to make sure they don’t get any more!!!
