My first pair of fleece socks!!

So I didn’t know what to make Ray, my soon to be brother-in-law, for xmas… I emailed my sister and she said socks… go to WalMart and get him some socks… well since everyone else got home-made gifts I thought it was important to give him something special… so I searched for a fleece sock pattern on-line and made these today…

Here are his socks… tell me what you think… those are jaguars embroidered on them… school mascot… he’s a football coach..

Now to make something for my dad… hmmm… fleece socks… sounds good to me… just have to make something to embroider on them… can’t embroider the soon to be SIL’s socks and not his… just wouldn’t be right…

As you can tell the packages didn’t get to the post office today… we got over 5″ of snow and sleet so we weren’t going anywhere this evening… tomorrow they HAVE to get put in the mail!

I made some aprons!!

I was having a hard time thinking of what to make for Jessica and the girls… So I emailed her and she mentioned that she was teaching them how to cook… I mentioned aprons and a day later I had made 3… Tell me what you think… This was my first attempt at sewing aprons…

After seeing these aprons my MIL commented on how cute they were… so guess what she’s getting for Christmas… you got it… an apron… her will have pasleys on it too… :)

Mini PatchFolios Completed!

A LONG time ago I got a Craft Apple pattern for Mini PatchFolios and when I was surfing around at some sewing/crafting blogs I came across this cute notebook at Sister to Sister and remembered… Hey I have a pattern like that…

Soooo… I made some… took a couple days.. first night was cutting out all the pattern pieces and second night was figuring out how they went together and getting the first one done… the next day I got the other two done… I still have 1 cut out and ready to sew but life got in the way…

Here they are… tell me what you think… this was my first time trying this pattern and it was rather easy… I’ve never really quilted and the directions were easy to follow. I only wish that the directions has picture instead of diagrams…

I think they turned out pretty cute… now to figure out who to give them too… :)

Stars FINALLY done!

Large Hanging Holiday Stars

Large Hanging Holiday Stars

Well I finally finished all the stars with ribbons, groments… everything. I don’t think I’m going to put any holly in them until the Christmas but then it can be fresh. But here is what the larger ones look like…

The pattern was free at You Can Make This – Hanging Holiday Stars and the embroidery design can be found at Swak Embroidery.

The smaller star comes with the pattern for the larger star. I think they both turned out pretty cute. The 4 smaller stars with letters on them are going to have Christmas pictures of the girls tucked in them and given to friends. The other small stars are going to my sister and mom, who will hopefully use them as ornaments or accents around their house. All the stars were made from recycled jeans.

Recycled messenger bags for the girls

Well, I decided to do a fun sewing project for the girls that yes, involves some embroidery, applique and…. RECYCLING!!!

I made the girls matching messenger bags made from a pair of their daddy’s old jeans. Well they sorta match… the basics… made from recycled jeans embroidered with the same thread and made from the same pattern… the appliqued and lining fabric was picked by the girls.

Haley and Autumn’s messenger bags…

Now to make me something from daddy’s old jeans… :)
